HB 137

Create a statewide drug takeback day

    Representative Winter,

Missoula County supports HB 137, Create a statewide drug takeback day, up for hearing tomorrow morning in the State Administration Building. The Missoula Prescription Drug Task Force currently holds these events twice a year, and they serve as important tools to raise awareness and encourage parents, grandparents and community members to properly dispose of their unused, expired and unwanted medicines. Providing a convenient way for people to remove medications from households helps reduce ease-of-access and can lead to reductions in medication misuse, abuse and overdose. Takeback days also help prevent serious public health concerns, including substance abuse, child medicine poisoning and suicide.

    Please support HB 137.
