    Senators Sands and Bennett,
Missoula County supports SB 255: Revise laws related to declaration of marriage, up for hearing tomorrow morning in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Under current law, parties must prepare their own declaration of marriage. Under this bill, Vital Records will now develop a standard declaration of marriage form to provide to clerks of court. Clerks will make the form available to parties, who may complete and return the form to the clerk for filing. A standard declaration of marriage form not only simplifies the process for parties, but also provides consistency across all counties and ensures the information required under MCA §40-1-311 is contained within each declaration.

    Please support SB 255.
