Missoula County supports SB 257: Revise laws related to the Upper Columbia Conservation Commission, up for hearing this afternoon in the Senate Natural Resources Committee. However, we ask that the bill be amended to include representation from the Middle/Lower Clark Fork.
SB 257 addresses aquatic invasive species management in the Columbia Basin through the Upper Columbia Conservation Commission (UC3). It opens up participation in the UC3 from specific sub-basins including: the upper Clark Fork River basin; the Bitterroot River basin; the Seeley-Swan watershed; the Kootenai River basin; and the Flathead River basin.
