    Representative Winter,

Missoula County supports HB 660, Create Mobile Crisis Unit Grant Program, up for hearing this afternoon in the Human Services Committee. Responding to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis continues to be a public safety issue, not only for law enforcement but for communities as a whole. Mobile crisis response units allow law enforcement and first responders to more compassionately transition those experiencing a mental health crisis to the care of a trained professional, instead of arresting and booking them in jail. Not only does this keep the streets safer and take the burden off local hospitals and jails, it also provides the best response to the individual in crisis. Proactively responding to mental health crises creates better outcomes for everyone involved.

    Please support HB 660.
